  • I think this guy puts way too much stock in the movement to return the prisoners of war. Most zios want to pause the genocide, secure the hostages, and then complete the genocide but somehow without losses. The imaginary coalition he’s pointing toward as meaningful opposition are only opposed to the genocide because the idf is losing and hemorrhaging casualties. Most would be happy returning to business as usual pre al aqsa flood style ethnic cleansing and colonialism where they get their treats and dance parties and don’t have to actually face what their society is founded and dependent on.

Basically saying, ‘if only people would stop pointing out we’re an active colonial project serving white supremacist imperialism, we could have a zionist led opposition to zionism!’

  • You may be experiencing second hand trauma. I think it happens to a lot of us who are paying attention to the horrors of genocide, imperialism, environmental collapse and all the rest. It can lead to burnout and all sorts of depression/anxiety like symptoms and feeling like you don’t even deserve to feel badly. I don’t know though, just something I’m looking into regarding my own stuff which really rhymes with what you’re describing.

  • “Rather, China’s leaders are seeing green – not in the environmental sense, but in a monetary one.”

So a government that clearly communicates its intent to clean up its environment and ensure long term environmental health, and continues to advance in this field faster than its comparatively aggressive goals is just greedy, got it. It’s not that the sane people in the world want to disconnect energy production from destructive practices and that drives innovation and development. No, evil China is even more obsessed with money than the republicans!

These writers would crow day and night about the economic benefits of a ‘green new deal’ if their politicians were capable of rejecting the interests of their masters.

And the shifting of blame for the American government’s suicide pact with oil and gas entirely onto the Republicans is fascile. As if the democrats blocking any meaningful change or environmentally sound development through their rotating cast of spoilers they keep in the party isn’t serving the same capitalist interest.

    Pathetic jingoism.
