    how did they arrive at that specific pronunciation tho? are the wires getting crossed in their brain between uyghur and wigger?

      Wait, is that not how it’s pronounced? I’ve only heard chuds say the word out loud, so if that’s not it I’d like to know how to say it correctly.

        I’m pretty sure that is how you say it properly in English. Maybe it’s different in Uyghur? It is a Turkic language. I know Mandarin has a totally different word for them that IIRC isn’t related to the word.

        I admit I’m a bit ignorant on this topic though.

          In the native language “Uyghur” the U is pronounced between an “ou” and Cyrillic У, “gh” sits somewhere between a guttural R and soft “kh/X” (voiced uvular fricative).
