It’s not really about intelligence, or lack thereof. People typically license themselves to believe whatever benefits them is good. We all do it, we aren’t enlightened or immune for being communists. Well, I haven’t experienced it firsthand myself where I live in the UK, but it’s going about as well as you might expect.
