They think these LLMs are going to be a whole new advertising platform too. They think you’re going to be surrounded all day by LLM assistants that won’t stop bringing up products and talking about them favorably, and that this is going to make you more likely to buy the product.

  • Your pc monitor is now essentially a samsung tablet with microsoft copilot running advertisments and recording your screen. Other manufactures copy it and normal ones cost way way more and hard to get now somehow. Now introducing arm laptops with a locked bootloader for your safety with seperate AI monitor(pls register with us to “sideload” applications on your pc that you made yourself. Connect to wifi, accept license and pay subscription for copilot plis porky-happy The updates stop after 4 years and you have to buy new one. I hope you are not criticizing a genocide on our device because that is a breach of policy.

      Maybe yours is, nerd sicko-tux

      • I meant monitor and not the pc itself there with an android like design with locked bootloaders. The thing they do with tvs now with how all the “smart ones” cost more until it is your only option so the option is buying from China and paying the extra shipping and tariff. Buying something from offshore has become a complicates process recently in my country and it feels impossible so its a sick burn when things head that way. It’s hard to imagine because you still need them for other industries and even if you can’t there would be the embedded and IOT hobbyist markets but probably nothing like the fancy gaming monitors. Still just overanalyzing a bit that probably won’t go that far because the market for it is more diverse than TVs.

I’ll never take the under on the stupidity of Americans

I remember when Netflix launched their ad tier. I thought to myself this is doomed to failure, not having ads is the entire business model. People will revolt.

    The offering was wildly successful.

Americans love eating shit and dying

They’ve been conditioned from childhoot to only eat the shit of capitalists, but to pay them for the privilege, and pay extra to lick the ass clean

(I am sorry for the mental images)

it was kind of like that before LLMs. Features just disappear on every update under the guise of “it confuses noobs” but it’s actually just your rights being taken away or ads/dark patterns being added. Not happy with the state of things? Just recreate the entire universe and all supply chains from scratch yourself, bucko.

One major contributing factor to the rise of LLM’s perceived utility is that it’s filling a vibe hole created by decades of anti-user UX changes and dark patterns.

While I will personally never use Linux, I do recognize that the way windows has proliferated has probably led to many of us (I’m primarily speaking of myself but I know there’s many out there like me) being so dependent on something as ridiculously easy to use as windows that learning how to use linux is harder than it should be; if LLMs proliferate and become found in everything, it may not be long before people do indeed become far too dependent on it. Myself personally I would support countries making learning Linux in schools mandatory; Windows is to operating systems what automatic is to cars, and I think people should first learn how Linux works and then abandon it if they see fit, but they should at least be fluent in it so they’re not reliant on getting the latest windows.

If LLMs become something you find by default in all your products, it’ll definitely lead to people becoming less capable and more reliant.

Tbh, I’d kind of like my technology to address me by name. Maybe it’s a childish thing I experienced a few times as a kid and never let go of, maybe it’s a queer/trans thing that’s a lot more common when your parents won’t call you your real name, not sure.

But, like, you don’t need a creepy LLM designed for corpo benefit to do that. Just need to add a few lines of display text to stuff and have it pull the currently logged in username from the OS, or from the program itself if it requires an account. Like whatever the Hexbear taglines use to tell each of us specifically to read a particular work of theory.

LLM cracks me up. I’ve never seen so much investment into something that doesn’t even work as described on the tin. Like whole industries are adopting this shit and none of it works at all. It’s like running a company based on answers from. A magic 8-ball. And it’s so counter to a system like capitalism where you need people to have at least some money so that can buy the bullshit you produce. AI adoption bu companies is destroying whole entire sectors of employment.
