    Unfortunately a lot of straight writers put a lot internalised sexism in their straight romances. Basically to write a gay relationship like a straight one, those would pick one character to be the desired one and the other character to be the seducer, or any other hetero bullshit

      the number of times when I’ve seen a romance anime where the guy says “I will protect you” and the girl swoons is truly ridiculous. we don’t need much of anything from straight romances honestly. queer romances should be queer as hell

        honestly i’m still amazed that people don’t get bored of this shit already, with how common and overused it is. i know i already am; and honestly astonished at the lack of the opposite (where the girl vows to protect the guy instead for once since im sure this is already done in yuri/lesbian media where A girl vows to protect another girl) being done in media.
