the number of times when I’ve seen a romance anime where the guy says “I will protect you” and the girl swoons is truly ridiculous.

honestly i’m still amazed that people don’t get bored of this shit already, with how common and overused it is. i know i already am; and honestly astonished at the lack of the opposite (where the girl vows to protect the guy instead for once since im sure this is already done in yuri/lesbian media where A girl vows to protect another girl) being done in media.
