I always thought that was a joke. What book is that from?
Old books were full of it. Don’t know about this one but i remember reading bishop Thietmar chronicle (btw a fundamental work for early history of Poland), and every few pages he met some dead priest in a dream which would reveal some info, usually a pure rumour or dying regret. Basically supernatural gossip mill lol. Though to be fair the next bishop after reading probably felt so embarrassed that he hide the manuscript and so it survived. Also fortunately no dream figures talked to Thietmar about any real events, those he witnessd personally or talk with eyewitnesses.
How the f do “communist” even blatantly push neocolonialism and imperialism under the rug like this?? Even if it was true that working conditions were currently worse in China than in the imperial core, it would only mean that, thanks to the law of unequal exchange, the labor aristocracy can get more freebies from the government. When they say “capitalist countries” they conveniently ignore most of the third world where capitalism is unbearable and everything is just plain worse than in China. Such blatant ignorance to simply call Swenden and cie “capitalist” when everything positive about them is due to the looting of exploited countries.
They threw the dialectics and material analysis over board, the things that make communism “scientific socialism”. Thus they threw themselves back into the idealist thinking of the utopian socialists.
