Absolutely agree. When I saw the ‘turn and burn’ a literally lept off the couch and shouted hell yeah
Books were fantastic too. Loved it all, only complaint was having to get rid of Alex’s character due to his harassment allegations. Sudden deviation from the books was unfortunate
Alex doesn’t die in the books?
Nope, not like that. They had to do a full script rewrite. Really unfortunate
Still alive and kicking.
Hard agree here, I really enjoyed both. It’s also a rare case where the show follows the books fairly closely which I really appreciated. One of my biggest pet peeves is when they take a series people like and then change everything. Altered Carbon is a perfect example of that.
I’m working my way through the first book right now. I’m having trouble getting past the pro cop hard-on that Corey has.
Don’t worry, it is not there for long.
I haven’t seen the TV show, I don’t watch much unfortunately (fortunately?), but at least the first book was very good. I haven’t read the others but that may be something I should get back to. Does it keep the same level of quality throughout?
It’s been a couple years since I finished reading them, but my memory is that all nine books feel like one long one. I don’t remember there being any change in quality or enjoyment.
