That may be a statistical fluke, since most of the active tanks on the planet are US manufactured, haven’t seen maintenance since the first Bush admin, and were only built to function in the desert as long as the wind isn’t blowing too hard.
I thought maybe it was a comment on how stuff like drones and global imaging have made modern warfare revolve around long-range artillery/unmanned aerial strikes and then rapid troop movement

This. With human carry able weapons that can vaporize a tank, tanks are basically just clunky mobile artillery.
That was always the case though, yet tanks were useful. I would say drones are much more impactful, just as the increasing cost and complexity of tanks made tanks much rarer and thus decreased the role of most important antitank weapon (other tank) too.
Tanks can do the same to other tanks and humans over much longer ranges and more precisely.

You know, this makes me sad and I can’t really nail down why. I think it’s because their ignorance is so pointless. I want .ml to maintain its current position because it’s the closest thing we have to a place where we can talk with them. I feel like, for many of them, their current position on what “tankies” (Marxists) are and what they think is holding on by the skin of its teeth, reliant completely on enculturation because it’s wildly out of step with what the vast, vast majority of Marxists on any instance actually say.
I hope some of them come to understand and accept how they’ve been lied to.
