My lately neglected guitar is keeping its abused stares at me and I want to pick up playing again. I’ve rediscovered my love for blues lately so I want to focus on that a bit more.

You guys play any instruments?

Not entirely related but I think the USSR had union/worker choirs and I know revolutionary songs were important in China, I’d be curious what role people think music could play in a revolutionary context or something?

I read that the accordion became extremely popular in Asia despite coming from France because the revolutionary army orchestra used it as a portable alternative to piano to play the in the villages that they visited. Playing music is a great way to link the revolution to the cultural life of the people, a strategy that is extremely effective to rally support and have been used by every mass communist organisation.
