Obviously Communism being a global/international ideology, we live in different conditions with different taboos and social mores. In the place where you currently live, do you feel comfortable enough to wear a HammSick on your clothes? Not like a Che shirt or a red star or anything that can be passed off as anything else, but a full on Hammer and Sickle cannot be confused with anything else. Beyond that, do you particularly enjoy political-based clothing at all or do y’all just vibe in whatever clothes you like?

I had hammer and sickle earrings that were dope as hell. Think they got commented on once or twice but when asked I said some shit like “it represents the unity between farmers and workers”, which, not a lie, but… lol.

I took them out before I went to Peru so I didn’t get accused of being a Shining Path stan or something. Just never put them back in when I got back I guess.

I also have a punk jacket I sewed a hamsick onto, and I wore it around town when I was in college a lot. Impolite looks, but never really got comments. That jacket has a shit ton of patches on it, though, including the fucking three arrows and an anarchy symbol 🤮. I was a cringearcho-communist back then for sure.

Now, I echo the subtlety point. If the hamsick were incorporated in a natural way that melds well with the rest of the fit, I’d wear it, but probably not a giant hamsick on a red shirt. It seems a bit obnoxious and attention-seeking maybe, but props to you if you can pull it off.
