This is what I’m starting to think. She obviously can’t win a primary, even with her experience at VP. This is their only shot. They tried really hard to make her a thing in 2020.

What do y’all think?

I think they have no idea what they’re doing and that there’s no one in charge of the Democratic Party in any meaningful sense. Whatever happens isn’t going to be the result of some grand plan cooked up by a group of key stakeholders deftly pulling levers, but rather the net result of a bunch of semi-independent actors flailing around trying to serve their own interests.

Having said all of that, I don’t think that anyone wants Harris to be the nominee. She’s probably the only candidate who could do worse than Joe Biden in the general. Maybe there are some people who want to glass-cliff her into losing the general, but there’s no plan to win. Trump is good for individual fundraising efforts, and probably good for downballot campaigns overall. This is the American political system working as designed, which is why it’s irredeemable garbage and should be destroyed at the earliest opportunity.

This is something that more people need to drill into themselves. It is a notion that permeates all aspects of American politics, that there is some clash of titans (in the lib mind) or some nefarious deliberate machinations being orchestrated by powerful backers of each party to create a literal political theater, but the reality is it’s just physics.

Body in motion stays in motion until acted on by some sort of force. With no solid left wing movement to exert force against the body of Capital, it just keeps rolling on down hill toward the cliff of human extinction.

There is nobody in the driver’s seat, we wadded up the ball of Capital and pushed it down the hill and now it’s just rolling on toward its predictable destination we just couldn’t see the cliff when we first started the ball in motion.

Something I’ve noticed studying systems theory is that liberalism is basically antithetical to systems thinking. The moment you apply a genuine systemic lens to individual choices at-scale, the whole thing falls apart fairly quickly. You pretty much have to assume that there’s some kind of plan orchestrated by groups of individual actors, or else you have to accept that things don’t happen because of the choices that people make, and if the choices people make aren’t that relevant, then changing people’s minds through education, debate, media, etc. doesn’t actually matter that much. The status quo doesn’t persist because of people’s choices, the status quo is driven by those choices. Individual agency is already priced-in, so to speak, at both the low and high level. Even individuals in places of power are basically train conductors. They don’t actually make any decisions about the direction they’re going, they just run the train.

It’s hard to get your head around at first, but once you start seeing that powerful people’s decisions are a result of systemic forces, rather than the cause, a lot of stuff starts to make sense.

Controversial opinion but I think Kamala would do better than Biden in a general election. Policy wise the elites are fine with her, so no real push back from the capital class that wouldnt also be there for Biden, and shes not saddled with the age issue. She would lose votes for being a minority women, but most of those probably werent going to vote for Biden anyways?

Does Kamala even have, like, an ideal? Or policies? The only thing people seem to know about her is that she’s a cop.

“All of your criticisms of her are because you hate minorities and women.”

That’s what she brings to the table, an easy, thought terminating defense for any criticism that let’s them virtue signaling how not racist or sexist they are.

That’s the ideal state of existence for libs

This would be the worst thing imaginable for wokeness™. Imagine the radlibs playing chud-style rhetorical idpol games with minorities as the ball like maybe-later-honey solidarity frothingfash

They did that a lot with the Sanders campaign with their “black vote” obsession and getting mad when he called Hawaii the most diverse state. Apparently a majority Asian/hapa community isn’t diverse to them.

Absolutely, I got shit about that myself.

It would be like the Israel situation, where you have actual nazis saying (If you squint very hard) the same thing as leftists. Getting the right answer very much the wrong way.
Leftists: I hate president Harris for her policy
Chuds: I hate president Harris for her policy and the fact that she’s a woman and not white.
            Centrists: same-picture

That makes me wonder whether they would hate her more for being a woman or a minority. I’m leaning woman but I could be wrong.

I don’t think Biden himself would go along with that, so if i had to make a guess without much thought put in, I’d say:

The dem establishment will WANT to and probably try to, but Biden won’t have it and it’ll lead to some very clear awkward bitterness between him and Harris

Both Biden and Harris were candidates set to receive the Dark God of Capital as His vessels.

It fried both of their brains. But Biden turned out slightly more functional than Harris.
