I’m looking into the myth that all things made outside of the west are trash and all things inside are God tier, but can’t find anything other than “China quality control bad and Americans work harder because muh craftsmanship”

Sorry if this is a little off topic or the wrong place to post, just curious

The rate of profit is declining. You can squeeze labor, use cheaper materials, or both to raise profitability. Most of the cheap stuff that breaks easily uses cheap materials and construction methods with poor longevity. That accounts for the majority of the breakage, not bad quality control. America also manufactures the building blocks of junk like engineered wood and linoleum.

Everything in all honesty. Houses, books, furniture, food, electronics, cars, its all incredibly shitty.

If I had to pick a topic, I would go after food. Food has tanked in the United States in terms of quality, quantity, and nutrition. Cheap, expired, poorly regulated ingredients/crops, poorly regulated facilities (workers falling into and dying in industrial mixers and this isn’t discovered till hours later, companies using sawdust as filler, and so much more).
