We need to drop some “aid” on Xinjiang in the form of a pallet that crushes people.
From what I’ve seen Urumqi is basically nicer than any major US city.
Yeah we should use pics comparing them to US cities instead tbh
It’s always a bit wild to see deeply unserious people regurgitate propaganda that you can disprove by doing a 5 second search and bring up a “walking around in _____” video on YouTube.
I’ll watch street walks around various cities in China and make jokes with friends about people being forced to wear Jordans and shop at the mall by the evil CCP.
You got some good recs? That sounds fun.
No real deep cuts or anything. I put on Walk East for background noise a lot.
Did you know it’s illegal for Americans to go to Cuba for tourism?
That’s not “evil, authoritarian” Cuba’s law. That’s the US’ law. Same situation in the DPRK
funny how that works eh, you’d think they’d want people to travel to these places to see how lucky they are to live in the good old US of A.
However you can go to ‘Support the Cuban people’
Right, though there’s a lot of rules on that. Can’t stay in pretty much any hotel or resort on the whole island. Or any government run business (the US publishes a huge list). You also need a “full time itinerary of approved activities” while you’re there and you’re supposed to keep your receipts for 5 years subject to audit by the US government.
The enforceability of all of this is… Questionable though. Keep in mind that that can change depending on who’s in charge in Washington.
I am officially issuing a “Do not contact” notice for my girlfriend who goes to another school
Shamelessly reappropriating a classic from Bill Hicks
👏
why are you deadnaming alex jones?
Republican Rep. Chris Smith from New Jersey and Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley from Oregon sent letters to Secretary of State Antony Blinken and three tour companies on Thursday.
You can tell Americans really care about Muslims when republicans get involved
They continued: “Instead, the U.S. and its allies should be demanding unfettered access for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials, and long-banned experts on the region to conduct investigations of past and ongoing atrocities and other gross violations of human rights, such as forced labor.”
Didn’t China already said ok to this and the US refused to send anyone? Lol. Or did China give restrictions on where the investigators could go? A bit odd that this type of shit isn’t proposed for western countries.
Watchdogs have also highlighted destruction of religious and cultural sites, seen as attempts to assimilate minority groups.
Weren’t a bunch of mosques partially or fully destroyed in order to be rebuilt to include modern technology and amenities?
In January 2021, the U.S. government determined that genocide and crimes against humanity were being committed in the region, where Chinese authorities have detained millions of people in internment camps and other facilities.
Then immediately retracted lol
Americans are always complaining about gang violence. Do they have any plan to reradicalize the criminal youth that make up these gangs and deter future members? Or do they just plan on throwing all of them into a mass grave behind a prison in Alabama?
lol yup
