So I just went to archive.ph and archive.org to archive this url page : https://www.instagram.com/p/Chon-8JjeP6/
Because zeleski had uploaded another cute looking nazi logo wearing soldiers pic.
But no archive site could archive it at all and all the moreover when I refreshed the Instagram post page after trying to archive it, the nazi related picture was deleted?!?! Whaaaat?? It was up there for more than 24hrs unnoticed but suddenly when I tried to archive it failed and the photo got deleted??? (You can check it out yourself by visiting the url)
Edit: I understand why the site archivers may not work because of how a site like Instagram is designed. But the main point here is how the picture got deleted just after I’ve tried to archive them.
Does the Wayback Machine even save embedded content? IIRC it doesn’t work for YouTube. I think it’s mainly intended to back up HTML, CSS, JavaScript (the parts that work without accessing remote content) and static media
Yeah I acknowledge they might not work with Instagram. But the main point is not that…
It is how the picture got removed just after I’ve tried these wayback machine.
I don’t think there’s any relation between your archiving attempt and the deletion of the picture (if that’s what you’re saying). They probably just realized that they’d posted yet another obvious Nazi
Then the timing was too very sus
Likely just a coincidence. They’d (the archiving site) have to notify Instagram, who’d have to notify the uploader, who’d then have to remove it (unless Instagram did it automatically because of some agreement with the account)
Or the whole thing could be programmed for one click to select and delete the picture. (assuming they’re all working under the propaganda and information department for the imperialist core.
It could not have been programmed that way. It’s just impossible due to the sheer scale of sites like instagram. It takes time to propagate changes. For example, if you were to delete your own post from Instagram, you’d see it deleted because it was deleted on the server you’re connected to, but your friend on another continent might continue to see that deleted photo anywhere from minutes to hours after you deleted it.
One click where? On the archiving site, or on Instagram? The former is what I described above (which is possible, but I’d consider it unlikely), and the latter would mean that only one person would see the picture
I’d say it’s actually nearly impossible to do it as described. If this was a small site, that would be a different story. Small sites usually have all their content on the server hosting them, so they can delete anything instantly, but a massive site like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc. cannot do it this way due to the scale of their operation. Instead, their content is replicated across multiple servers, and changes must propagate to all of them, which takes time.
Right, it’s theoretically possible but very unlikely that it could happen so quickly.
Maybe they’ve different program to delete things with one click from social sites? (such as Facebook Twitter Instagram YouTube etc)
See Arsen’s response. I consider it extremely unlikely
IIRC you’re allowed to change pictures on an Instagram post. But I’m not entirely sure, since I don’t use it myself.
