Don’t be shy, tell us about yourself! :D

I remember my days of middle school. It was really quick, especially because of COVID. 8th grade ended early. First two years did feel a bit slow though. What were your experiences in Middle school?

Tbh I’d be pretty impressed by someone that is or was a marxist in middle school through their own individual accord, and by that mean a genuine marxist who isn’t just memeing to the USSR anthem. I knew next to nothing about actual politics until I got into my 20s (thanks USA education system).

Middle school is like 8th grade? (Sorry, this country’s school system was different.) I was starting to get into marxism at that age. Honestly, I did start out as liking the aesthetics (music from the USSR and the DPRK is still a very big interest of mine), but my intent was genuine, I wasn’t there for the memes.

Though, my takes on certain issues back then were very cringy, and I failed at reading theory because it just didn’t fit into my 8th-grader brain. And also I thought /r/communism on the Reddit was a good source for theoretical discussion… And besides, looking back, my material conditions were too comfortable to truly “commit” to marxism, if this makes sense. It was not until a few years until I actually got serious about it.

Back then, my big dream was to permanently move to the DPRK… xD

I would like this thread to be reworded as “Anyone was a Marxist in middle school already?”

If there are 13yos on lemmygrad this info should at most remain privy to the admins so we can protect them and not be made public.
