My favorite part of Lemmy world is how people in there all seem to think that the instance is largely “left leaning”. If being a leftist means assuming that the entire world is USA and then simping for Joe Biden, then sure. But my experience is that their political views outside of like, FOSS and privacy, are incredibly reactionary. More so that on Reddit, in my experience. Perhaps because they have been banning and defederating anyone who didn’t conform to the America First worldview?

I swear, I’m gonna do a violence if I see a single another thread where someone critizices Biden and the replies are all like “well Trump is worse so 🤷”.

I started my Lemmy journey there and have grown attached to my account though 😔
