I have no idea how Gamers are like this, the gaming industry is probably the most blatant example of capitalist fuckery staring consumers in the face, and they always just find some excuse as to why the system isn’t the problem. I guess the keyword there is “consumers.” People on the consumer end don’t want their treats to be problematic, they don’t want to think about the exploitative industry, so will look for easy scapegoats to blame instead.
Gaming is a weird hobby really. It’s meant to invoke a sense of accomplishment and improvement of skills that a hobby would, but you don’t actually get good at a useful skill from gaming. It’s passive entertainment like TV watching, masquerading as active entertainment (and I say this as someone who plays too many videogames)
