Simply existing in the world when a group of teenagers walks nearby: “they must be mocking me!”

Everyone hates me, every person who is nice to me is just doing so because its the social protocol and as soon as I’m gone they all talk about what a piece of shit I am

In fact, I’m a bad person for making their day worse by forcing an unwanted social interaction onto them!

They told me I’m not a bad person.

This is because I must be tricking them somehow; this vile deceit makes me a bad person

I have the quasi-opposite problem where I have relatively good self-esteem and recognize my value as a person, but always worry that no one else cares about me

In Japan they have transparent public bathrooms so people can see if there’s a creep or potential rapist inside, and then it activates some frosted glass when you lock the door (also activates by default if the power is cut off)

Someone else can’t enter if it’s locked.

They mean like you walk up to a public stall, you see it’s empty (because it’s see through glass), so you know it’s safe to go in. You lock the door when you go in and it turns opaque so nobody can see you pooping.

Edit: I found a video of what they are talking about. Apparently it’s also so that you know the bathroom is clean and not gross so you aren’t discouraged from using it. Pretty neat. https://youtu.be/KGoKsv2omBU?si=F0ig6oFHtavzZY9z

One of the things I hate the most about “””intellectuals””” is that every single one of them thinks they’re smart enough to coin a new term or draw up a model to explain their thinking

I trust them to coin new thoughts if nothing else, so using that as a criteria…
