    Weird situation for me because I want them to have lied about it but at the same time I wouldn’t have minded them being tortured.

    Just kidding.

    Obviously conclusively knowing what happened would require a thorough investigation. But if you look at West’s track record with propagandizing against communist nations to portray themselves as the good guys and then consider that these politicians are absolute ghouls with no soul, it does seem increasingly likely that they lied about it.

    If you read the linked article it also mentions many (way too many) cases of anti-war people being silenced, some driven to suicide. It is a clear indication that the western narrative around these wars even after all these years is extremely unbalanced.
