It doesn’t sound like he’s suspended his campaign; merely that he’s abstaining from the campaign trail while he recovers. When I hear someone has “suspended their campaign,” it means they’ve dropped out, which wouldn’t make sense for Lula to do, seeing as he’s the favorite to win:
