On the one hand this is horrifying, armed criminals robbing people in open daylight and departing within minutes, doubtless willing to murder over a few thousand dollars. And doing so right around the time the city is swarming with cops, private security, etc for a major international conference, that’s brazen.
On the other, lol at America’s image going further down the toilet. It sucks it happened to a public broadcaster but given they’re in the post-soviet space they’re doubtless just lapdogs of US imperialism and it’s telling they were looking for a positive push story. Unfortunately this event far from likely waking people up to the degradation of society under capitalism, run-away rents and living expenses, aloof capitalist cops who do little or nothing because they want even more brutal impunity to murder without question, is likely to only drive fascist sympathies and excuses for an expanded police state that does nothing to stop this kind of behavior.
