It’s all about lording their power over us, there is not a single cishet liberal who has any amount of actual respect for us or any other marginalized group. It’s a white savior complex all the way down and if we do not show them eternal gratitude for their empty plattitudes, they get mad and reliably reveal their chauvinism and their boundless, inhuman cruelty. It’s that way every single time i dare to correct them when they say something transphobic, too. They cannot handle it when their faux progressive facade is revealed for what it is.

      Death to AmeriKKKa.

Tons of older people say shit like this. Nothing they can do or say to impress or convince people. So they have to think of something to give them and their ideas relevance. Ideally something fixed that society likes. Of course they can’t just learn and grow and change like everyone else. that’d be hard anti-italian-discrimination

i’m beginning to realize a main aspect of the boomer mentality, which is divorced from actual age or generation, is an unwillingness to acknowledge that someone younger than you may be more informed. it’s so silly. there are teenagers who are way smarter than me and that’s just how the world is.

an unwillingness to acknowledge that someone younger than you may be more informed.

this is baffling to me because the curriculum gets updated over time so younger people ought to be better informed about matters they’ve been educated on than people who learned about it 20+ years ago.

Imagine the only defence of your position being “I’m older and people should respect their elders, therefore I’m right.”

What an empty, meaningless (and yet presumably long) life this person must’ve led. Years they could’ve spent educating themselves, or honing skills, or learning the lessons about basic empathy they apparently failed to learn in kindergarten. I can’t even imagine what this person’s life must be like, if this is how they react to someone trying to educate them on something. I don’t like to call people “Karens” unprovoked, but I have a funny feeling this person has screamed at at least one manager in their long life.

Age often does correlate to knowledge simply by dint of the fact you had more time on each to aquire it. Inevitably those people who fall back on age as their justification for being right forgot to do the aquire it part.

The first poster didn’t say anything about being queer, either . . . the old person was triggered by a the-more-you-know rainbow and had no choice but to abandon solidarity.

listen here, you gay. i’ll have you know I’m a Queer Ally, I always get the rainbow cupcake at Panera Bread and I have a gay bumper sticker on my Tesla. Do you really want to lose all that support?

The Palestinians in Gaza most specifically have been given an almost 2 decade chance

Translation: the victims in the refugee state (as not everyone in Gaza are from Gaza; many are refugees from other places in Palestine) imprisoned in their own country have been given 2 decades to learn to live with horrific oppression.

Imma be real with you guys; if I ever hear about any of these people having their homes invaded and the people who invade their homes treat them in a horrific manner, I will absolutely say the home invaders have a right to defend themselves and that they (the people in question) should’ve learned to coexist; I feel no sympathy for these people I swear to God

I fly this rainbow flag to let the LGBTQ+ community know that they’re safe and I support them (until a single person disagrees with me and they’re incidentally gay, then I’d rather you died).

This person has terminal reddit brain. Only comments about either pro-ukraine or pro-israeli content, insufferable smuglord replies, blames civilians for being bombed. Pretty much used r/politics exclusively before the invasion took place

It’s incredible how anti Semitic Israel supporters are without seeming to realize it. Conflating jews with Israelis was originally ba literal nazi dog whistle, and they have just adopted it whole heartedly.

Ending active military occupation in favour of open air prison, blockade and periodic bommbings is the height of ‘living peacefully’.
