China is going to break the 3nm barrier while Intel is still huffing paint inside their half finished antiquated foundry.

These controls maintain our clear focus on military applications and confront the threats to our national security posed by the PRC [People’s Republic of China] government’s military-civil fusion strategy.

How do we not have a Spiderman pointing emoji?

The only thing worth mentioning from that take is that they again admit that central planning is great.

Now that the west finds itself in serious competition, the deficiencies of the model are becoming glaringly obvious. They spun up this whole narrative how free markets are the way to prosperity after USSR dissolved, and started peddling this model to developing countries in order for them to allow western companies to take over their resources.

However, when you actually look at how the west developed, it was also through massive state directed efforts because that’s the only way to actually develop efficiently. Seems like western leaders ended up drinking their own kool-aid and now we see hilarity unfold.

If the US states that as the reason as to why they can’t remain competitive, then why don’t they start doing it as well?

      Oh wait.
