I actually feel more neutral about polls like these where Americans are asked their opinions about other places. Americans are so unaware of foreign countries that I doubt most of the responders could find Israel on a map, or that they know anything about it beyond they’ve heard it’s a place in the middle east somewhere and it’s America’s only ally in the region.

Also I remember American attitudes during the Iraq War and I’m shocked sympathy for Palestine is so high. Back in like 2003 the two standard opinions on how to deal with Muslim Arab people was either kill them all or kill them all but quicker. Outright hostility every single day with genocidal racism the baseline attitude. This same poll back then wouldn’t crack above 2% on the Palestinian side. Seeing 28% sympathize “a lot” with Palestine is wild to me.

Also don’t get me wrong, America is evil and must be destroyed, I’m just surprised how nuanced the public seems to be especially remembering how everyone talked post 9/11
