I’m not at liberty to say which admin did this one, but I’ve gotta say in an unofficial capacity, I’m with y’all on this one.

Simply “lol” isn’t enough, and it’s not at all fair or transparent to members. Admins should be writing out reports that at least give reasoning for bans, with the only exception being obviously rulebreaking material. I don’t think this one was obvious enough for “lol”, and I was wondering why they banned this user over something that doesn’t break any of our rules.

Edit; For Transparency, I posted this comment then thought “hmm, I should go check our admin chatroom to see if we’re talking about this already” and we were. The admin who did this has been removed from the admin team for confidential reasons, they might still write reports like this in the future, but we hope they refrain from short-changing their community going forwards. We care a lot about transparency on Lemmygrad, and this kind of thing is something we take very seriously, and we want to be called out when we make a mistake with it.

Thank you all for your patience with the admin team when we make mistakes.

I had the exact same confusion after seeing it on the modlog!

    Why ban him?

You are right in calling out on this. The admin that did that was removed from their post. It’s not that they were wrong in banning this person, but the reason given is simply insufficient and incoherent.

“Hail victory” but yeah, “lol” is just childish and useless
