I don’t think it is a threat. Facebook just rather cut Europe off than to give judicial advantages that could work elsewhere in the world. If the Terms of Service are more pro-user in Europe, everyone else in the world would want that too.

Facebook just doesn’t have the market value to threaten anybody. It’s just software, and there are alternatives out there. Europe could just migrate to vk, minds or diaspora.

Difficult task with 80% of users using WhatsApp, Instagram and/or FB, as well as the same number of pages of all kinds that use links for comments to FB, Twitter, Reddit, etc. The only way to make these companies stop being a problem is to stop being a business for them, that is, not to fight against them, but to fight against the way they do their business, trafficking in user data. .

Make legislators aware of also applying a basic right on the Internet that is guaranteed in the constitution, where i real life it is also prohibited for private companies to spy on and follow people to sell activities to third parties, read their mail or spread their photos without their consent.

Without this, neither FB nor others of this type would be a problem. A lot of awareness work and support for groups active in this area.
