That is really the only venue that you would switch someone’s mind who is in the middle of the road for who to vote for in 2024 in the US. Honestly, that’s not even all it did. I read through the curriculum and a not insignificant portion of it is focused on discussing slavery elsewhere as if to say “other people did it too!” even though it’s a totally different form of slavery. It doesn’t require that they teach that most other forms were war slaves and they didn’t own their family/children. Chattel slavery was almost purely a European colonialism thing that the US kept performing well past it being “acceptable,” if it ever was. I’m sure it also will never include mentioning why the electoral college is so fucked up, in that it prioritized states over people in order to protect the institution of slavery.
