I’m a member of a revolutionary party. known as a leading comrade in my region with positions in unions and in the party. However, I paid a visit to a comrade some months ago, I’m a little intense (ADHD) and an extroverted introvert. But the visit went well (so I thought), we had hot drinks and chatted for a few hours, they even had some weed (I don’t smoke). I would say they are a good comrade but lacks theoretical understanding, class instinct is however outstanding. They will argue against union work, suggest boycotting and mostly wants to create localised small campaign around local issues. In principal I am for local issues, and we can have and have had great interventions in anti racist campaigns, but honestly, running campaigns as a small branch requires a lot and trends towards limited outcomes. This person seems to have blocked my messaging them privately, we are also planning on doing some recruitment in theyre town, it seems I am not invited. As I’ve been asked to do legwork instead of recruitment/party social (food and drinks after) Then there had been two promising recruits who I had met initially, a second meetup happened where two comrades went to meet them in my city (I have no problem with that) but when I asked about it, one of the comrades lied, and I know this because the other comrade told me about the fucking meeting.

I think I am currently being spoken about behind my back.

I can understand that I’m intense. I still find the secrecy to get under my skin.

I’m sorry to hear that, comrade. Even well-meaning people can be cruel. It’s entirely uncalled for to ostracize you and speak about you behind your back, regardless of intensity of character.

There’s some complicated tension in my branch. I don’t think they are being well meaning, it would be nice if this had been the case. seems more attributable to ego and a family feud/nepotism, the more frustrating thing is, because I had risen fairy fast with in the party, and and many of my comrades seem to sincerely like me, a lot of the abuse comes with a smile and admiration. One that sticks in my head was “some people are born with it, some people learn it, and you fell into it, you really fell into it, didn’t you?” after I inpromptly turned up to a large trades council regional meeting where I spoke on a panel (all very last minute, some of my comrades knew I was attending but the person to say this had no clue) and this was said to me while we were debriefing in our socialist party group.

That’s really vile, comrade, and reeks of a lack of party discipline among comrades. This kind of behavior is intensely destructive.

Most of us are walking in lockstep, many of my comrades are family, in away, they have to be if we are to be revolutionaries. I believe its a regional issue and not a national one, at least I hope…

My region is historically with issues, I refer to us as the peasantry of the socialist party

Understood, perhaps more national and even international outreach would help? I am unsure of how possible that is.
