Withholding the code should not be defended. That’s sure. No excuses for that. However, I wish they were as critical to western companies, like Microsoft and Apple, as they are to this. M$ has done far more damage and even the Linux community is mellow towards them, just see excuses for using Windows and Mac in any Linux forum. In fact, they’re lenient towards many western companies, but will beat them up if they’re “progressive” (see the Code of Conduct meltdown), but not homophobic (see the guy from Brave browser getting praise, although finally he’s getting shite for basically coding an adware)

Yeah I don’t like GPL violations either. But using this as an excuse for racism is not good.
