I bought a safety razor a couple months ago and I’ve been using some blades that came with it, I don’t even think they have a brand, it looks like it’s just some Chinese manufactured stuff without name and they are okay, but I think I could get something a little bit better. Has any of you tried the Feather brand? I think they’re Japanese or somethign.

Honestly I got a Phillips (electric) “multigroom” line razor a few years back and I’m super happy with it. This thing resists to water and has lasted me I think almost 10 years now. I never have to charge it either for some reason, I guess moving a tiny motor doesn’t consume a lot of energy.

It has like 5-6 different heads you can switch because it’s meant to be used on the whole body, you even have something for your nose hair lol. Personally I just use the multipurpose head (looks like a hair clipper), and you have plastic guards you can add to cut your beard to a certain wanted level.

The thing with those super fancy electric razors like the Phillips with the three rotative heads (that everyone else does now too) is they don’t work, especially if you have long beard lol. They only work on super short beard, i.e. for daily use.

Hair clipper is the way to go, but most are not waterproof. The multigroom series is and is the only one that has lasted me more than a few years.

The purchase price is steep but you don’t have to fiddle with razor blades anymore and it pays for itself since there’s no maintenance costs to it.

Even the waterproof ones, you should clean out the heads and re-oil somewhat regularly, and you can use mineral oil when you run out of the tiny bottle of oil these machines usually ship with. It drains the batteries a lot less when it’s well lubricated too. I’ve had one for also about 10 years, uses double A’s, but I change them maybe once every two years.
