He was, in a way, the ultimate reactionary.

Much like fascists, he had a fake idyllic view of the past rooted in fantasy caused by alienation from capitalist society and wanted to turn back the wheel of history, in denial of the joys of human progress.

didn’t he denounce fascists/nazis as “kooks”? granted he also denounced leftists, but from what i skimmed from wikifedia, he came across more of an eco-anarchist.

He’s absolutely not an anarchist. He wrote a piece denouncing anarcho-primitivism.

He was basically more like a right-libertarian or ancap who wanted to return to monke, if anything.

He really did not have much of a coherent ideology and it has been suggested that his beliefs stemmed moreso from possible trauma due there being a rumor he was a MK Ultra victim, making him go insane.

If you read his stuff, he has a hyper-individualistic outlook which has gotten him fans from that kind of crowd. Tbf, anarchists are like that too, but Kaczynski also criticizes socialists and seemingly has no real problem with capitalism itself, just technology.
