Game awards are dogshit. Too few games compete for each category. And it’s always the same 3rd person action adventure with rpg elements that win. They need a bigger playing field and more representation in what wins. There are also issues with how genuine it feels, sometimes something has been out for years and still goes up for a category somehow. Or this year, with God of War coming out only days before the preliminary voting but somehow people are supposed to already know it’s good enough despite it being longer to complete than the period between release and voting. But dorito pope is a good meme, and sometimes a French guy swears, so. Shrug.
