Are there any stories and/or reports about DotP/AES state defectors fleeing to [insert capitalist country here], only to change their mind after a day (or so/less depending on the story) being in [insert capitalist country here] and wanting to go back to the DotP/AES state they came from? Mainly just out of curiosity.

I’ve seen a bunch of accounts on here of DPRK citizens leaving, realizing ROK is shit, and wanting to go back - but of course the occupying US forces don’t let them go back. Of course those aren’t the “defectors” who get loads of media attention.

A lot of Chinese nationals are going back to PRC as the US and west more broadly is treating them with more and more hostility, and life is better in China.

I’ve also heard firsthand from a few Chinese people who said they moved back to China / are planning on moving back, both online (possibly here once or twice?) and even offline (although IIRC one of them might have been Vietnamese)
