The Americans that are bloodthirsty and actually matter in the political sphere of the US are in an upper class that won’t at all see the effects or wont be effected much by economic blowback. If Americans themselves live in a bubble due to their geographic isolation compared to the rest of the world, this upper class lives in an extra layer of bubble because they are a wealthy managerial class who are even isolated from the immense poverty and devastation existing in their own country. The only thing that will sway them is the culture war and maybe minor inconveniences to them like stock going down and gas prices going up. It’s just the way politics works here, nothing happens unless these people are upset.
