Avoid Jump scares at all costs, ditch Friday the 13th movies. they all just film someone making popcorn for like 5 minutes, a door jiggles, they hide, door barges open…and it was their friend, next scene; they clean up around the house 5 minutes, open a closet slowly…cat jumps out. They never put in a hint or clue as to what will happen, just random surprises
As a fellow disliker of jump scares, I recall “The Mist” (the one based on a story by Stephen “Stepan Bandera was a great man” King) being pretty good
