Posted this video to a bunch of (non-China focused) Socialist subreddits last week, and every single time it got deleted by the moderators. Which kind of proved the point of the video.

Many westerners don’t know how China’s government is structured. They legit think it’s one party with one person doing everything, which you could disprove with one Google search.

A lot of hate from westerners comes from a lack of understanding China, their government, their culture etc. We like to shit on them on this site but if you truly believe all the evil stuff the media push, you’d be angry at China. Now, you can blame their lack of understanding in their lack of research off course.

It’s tiring but we need to keep an open attitude towards western leftists and even libs, otherwise we’ll never get them on our side.

Oh trust me I know, the War in the Ukraine is what really got my shit together. Thankfully I was listening to the Deprogram and started thinking more globally when it went down. Without being on Lemmy and learning the Geopolitics behind the War in the Ukraine, I’d probably be defending it, as at first glance you’d want to side with the defending country. Thank God I found Lemmygrad, right before it though so it was a close call. I do sympathize with western leftists and libs a bit, being raised as one, I’m just trying to get my sister to see the bigger picture. It’s just a matter of time and effort, eh.

      • Generally speaking, it’s probably a good instinct to side with the defending country, and there are clearly a lot of Westerners who genuinely believe that insert official enemy of the day is doing something horrible. You probably know this, but one of the main points here is that the LPR and DPR are the original victims of this war, and Russia really only escalated an existing war
