I have a big gap in knowledge of post-stalin Russia. Also if there’s any books covering this period I would love a recommendation.

There are all sorts of secondary sources that analyze this issue that i’m sure others have or will recommend (Grover Furr, Domenico Losurdo, etc.), but i’ll go a different route. Read “Next to Stalin: Notes of a Bodyguard” by A.T. Rybin. It’s takes a more personal approach and has quite a bit to say about what, in the opinion of many who knew Stalin personally, really happened.

It’s also quite a quick, short read.
