I’ve been thinking about this a little more and I’m wondering: It’s a megathread with links to a bunch of different kinds of sites, right? I’m wondering if it’s not so much that the communist subreddits and their megathreads are being targeted but the sources they link to get them flagged and removed. Which is the same anti-communist result, but I think it explains why it’s just some of the megathreads so far.
I think so… but then its just once removed, since reddit and the other big tech companies are going to remove any post with links to communist websites, and maybe even telesur and cgtn eventually.
Yeah, I expect that to happen soon. Though I also wouldn’t be surprised if they went the YouTube route where anything that links to those gets a big “This source is entirely or in part funded by _____ government” label as a way to scare liberals away from taking it seriously.
I think tech-capitalists have shown that they like to do these things in less obvious ways and we should be wary of expecting obvious 1984-style censorship when they’re currently winning by hiding content they disagree with behind algorithms, content warnings, account verification, etc.
Yeah… shout out to @felipeforte@lemmygrad.ml for building prolewiki, people should really start using either git repositories, or wikis to build their megathreads and sources. Or here at !communism101@lemmygrad.ml.

I have made a Critique section in ProleWiki to allow the writing and development of original content, and will improve it over time :thumbs up:
