Please ask me anything you want about firearms. I work as a firearms engineer, and would be happy to answer questions, I also invite other people to answer questions.

-5.56 or 7.62x39 and why ?
-What is the best alternative to firearms ?
-Are there equipment or ‘‘mods’’ that are really useful on guns and not just dumb useless deco stuff
-Vintage wooden gun look or modern polymer look ?
-Favorite AK
-What do you think is better ? Simple but rough gun or Complex but smooth gun.
-What is the difference between single action and double action on pistols?
Comparing the rounds back-to-back is a pointless exercise. Both will kill you equally as well, though they have different ballistics they’re not that different overall.
Either air rifles, or crossbows. Depending on what the argument is.
most attachments are genuinely useful, hence they haven’t been pushed out of the market. Also, you could make an argument that even the most pointless modifications are in some way useful.
For me, wood and steel. I’m not a fan of plastic, but there are a few guns that look good regardless.
I’m digging the AK-12 lately, Though I’ll never turn my back on the classic AK-47 Type II.
purely depends on the material conditions of the hypothetical. Are we fighting a war, or just collecting? If we’re collecting then we have the time to fully machine the firearms and make them beautiful. If we’re fighting a war, then we only have time for rough machining. Neither is better, neither is worse.
Single Action: pull the hammer for every shot.
Double Action: pulling the trigger also primes the hammer, allowing for repeated shots.
Thank you for your answer camarade.

Oh god I want to play with an ak-12 so bad.
I generally hate using this term for non-human objects, but the AK-12 prototype was fucking SEXY. I loved the interesting lines and the unique design language, it made the engineer in me squeal. But, the final version of it loses pretty much everything that makes it interesting and attractive, which is a massive bummer.
