BTW as someone with quite a lot of experience with kids, I can testify that the last thing children will get scared about is the colour of someone’s skin. It’s people’s hateful demeanor that scares the living shit out of kids.
Kinda unrelated, but a few years ago I did big brothers big sisters (a mentoring type after-school program) in the US, and the administrators asked me if I had a race preference for what kid I would take care of. I was like, “are you serious?” and they said yes lol.
