What do you think of https://mailinabox.email/ or https://mailcow.email/? If I cancel my ProtonMail account, I could redirect that money to have my own private email server. Only problem is that cheap VPS providers are in bed with 5 eyes and such.
I have a ProtonMail account too. Migrated almost everything there from GoogleMail. It was the most potable email provider I found. I may have to host my emails on my own server.
