I watch movies from the DPRK frequently as there are many subtitled in English on YouTube. They provide a fascinating insight into Korean daily life and the ideology surrounding Juche socialism. My favorite is Hong Kil Dong, which not only provides insight into how Koreans view their feudalist past but also is just a fun martial arts movie.

You’re probably thinking of Clever Racoon Dog, it’s great and very popular among Korean youth from what I understand.
