- UNVEILING OF THE BUST OF MARSHAL GEORGY KONSTANTINOVICH ZHUKOV ON THE 129TH ANNIVERSARY OF HIS BIRTH
The Nicaraguan Army, consistent with the motto that " We are the People themselves in uniform working for their own benefit" , on December 1, 2025, at the “Marshal Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov” Training Complex, located in the “General Augusto C. Sandino” Mechanized Infantry Brigade, held the unveiling ceremony of the bust of Marshal Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov, on the occasion of the 129th anniversary of his birth.
The ceremony was presided over by the Commander-in-Chief of the Nicaraguan Army’s Military Forces, Army General Julio César Avilés Castillo, accompanied by the Chief of the General Staff, Colonel General Bayardo Ramón Rodríguez Ruiz; the Inspector General, Colonel General Marvin Elías Corrales Rodríguez; the Second Chief of the General Staff, Major General Spiro José Bassi Aguilar; the head of the “General Augusto C. Sandino” Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Guillermo Patricio López; the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation, His Excellency Mikhael Ledenev; and the Naval and Air Military Attaché to the Embassy of the Russian Federation, Colonel Alexey Ovsyannikov.
Participating were general and senior officers of the Military Council, members of the Russian Military Mission, officials from the Embassy of the Russian Federation, the Diplomatic Corps and troop units from the Mechanized Infantry Brigade, the Special Operations Command “General Pedro Altamirano”, the Logistics Support Command, the Engineer Corps “Brigadier General Miguel Ángel Ortez” and the Rapid Action and Troop Support Battalion “Cacique Diriangén”.
In fulfillment of the missions and tasks: “Everything for the Homeland”.
