    TL;DR: No. Refineries that perform 38% of Russia’s oil refining PER YEAR have been hit. But this does not mean they were taken out for a year, in fact they were fully repaired within 10 days of the hits. They would have to be out of commission for 365 days for 38% of refining to be disrupted.

    38% is a great number. High enough to sound very significant, but not so high that people question why Russia hasn’t collapsed already. Ukraine could have used this kind of restraint in their propaganda earlier in the war. If this headline were written 3 years ago they’d claim they’d destroyed 138% of Russia’s refining capacity.

      And once we went “dude just fucking sit down and ask yourself how you can destroy more than 100% of something” they’d go “lol these Russian bots will deny the most obviously true stuff, the NYT, CNN, and BBC are all fake news now are they?”

      honestly i dont understand why they havent just given ukraine a ford f500. they could then just park it over russia, destroying it in one fell swoop.
