The Druze are Arabs and originally a sect of Ismaili Islam who deified a Fatimid Caliph. Unfortunately some of them are collaborating with Israel and seek separation from Syria and whether they realize it or not Israel is using them to destabilize Syria and annex more territory. There were skirmishes a couple of months ago but it cooled down as Druze leaders came to an agreement with the Syrian government.
skirmishes is a nice way to put it. Even after the agreement on the 16th, attacks continued. And whether parts of them collaborate with Israel or not, shooting up their families and burning down their livelihoods is still a crime. Israel is using those crimes as a crowbar to extend their war.
