Maybe too meta but I hate how much social media gets ahead of the papers at times like this. If you followed the Syria HTS takeover from their news your would think there was still a chance until the Syrian Arab News Agency RSS feed went down and came back up as pro-Jolani. Unfortunately it’s indispensable to have a news source that follows social media. You’d miss wholesale admissions of committing war crimes.
Middle east Spectator is a news media and not a social media.
Still a bit unfortunate that it’s a Telegram channel that’s somewhat inaccessible from outside of the Telegram walled garden.
Looking at this on the bright side, this news channel is even more based than what is allowed in X or any other Yankee owned social media.
That’s true, Lemmy is a lot easier to browse for me but I can’t fault them for trying to exist outside of the other mainstream alternatives.
You can actually just use RSSHub for Telegram channels. It’s quite convenient. Of course, Telegram could change that any time they like.
Yeah that’s one of the few accounts I actually pay attention to on there lol
