    I think it’s far more than that. DPRK now has real world fighting experience against a NATO force involving modern tactics. As he explains in the video, they quickly learned many problems with their existing doctrine that will now be fixed. This experience will be brought back and disseminated throughout the army, meaning that it will be far better prepared than the south in case the conflict turns to the hot phase again. On top of it, now that DPRK committed troops to Russia as part of their treaty, Russia will have to reciprocate in turn making it a powerful deterrent for the US and occupied Korea.

    The other aspects of this are tech transfers from Russia and resumption of economic activity. Back in USSR days, DPRK was growing faster economically than the south. When USSR fell, the US isolated them economically which led to really hard times. Resumption of trade from Russia will be a huge boon for their economy going forward.
