while we’re on this topic what the fuck do you do with the tops of cans? that shits sharp af, i try to leave them attached/bent in so theyre not just like loose ninja stars but surely they break off… sorry to anyone who has to deal with garbage i genuinely dunno wtf to do
I was thinking about ring-pulls though. As my fingers can attest, those are plenty sharp and I often think they must present a hazard to disposal workers but idk what to do about it
I just use my safe can opener on those as well, works fine. It uses pressure to split the rolled over seam around the edge, so it doesn’t matter too much what kinda can it is.

Put em back into the can when I’ve emptied it. If I’m at a place that gets emptied rarely then I also stomp the cans flat
oh, (carefully) stomping them is a good idea, i try not to deform them because i have no idea how they get the labels off but idk if it matters
Usually I put them back in the can and then bend the lid so they can’t fall out.
You put them in the metal recycling with the rest of the can.
Get a different can opener. They make them now that don’t leave sharp edges at all.

Ah yeah, I see. I just cram them back into the can, fwiw.
