Crazy that Marx, Engels and Stalin dunked on anarchists so damn hard with their works and anarchists have never been able to really argue those points. Like fr if you read After the Revolution: Marx debates Bakun, On Authority by Engels and Anarchism vs Socialism by Stalin and still remain an anarchist, you must have misread the books bc there’s no good faith argument against their claims
i straight up dont think reading those would even do anything for 99.99% of anarchist. they arent anarchist for its own sake to begin with, anarchism and dogmatism are simply the only ways they can hold left-ish ideas without having to rethink their entire understanding of history. thats why anarchist are within a rounding error westerners cuz thats where anti communist propaganda is at its strongest. if we want to “convert” anarchists we need works that disprove the propaganda about existing and past socialist attempts not that challenge their ideology. challenging their ideology wouldnt even do anything anyways since they would still think we are trying to 100 gorilion people and eat all the grain, and if we do manage to get them to question their false history and accept existing socialism and what we are trying to build and understand it as a progressive force it hardly matters whether they think all authority can be abolished after communism comes about or not, thats something for the people of the future to figure out.
